TANZANIA
Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa with a land area of 945,097 Square kilometers comprising both the mainland and the Zanzibar Archipelago. Tanzania 2020 population is estimated at 59,734,218 people according to UN data. Tanzania has the highest mountain in Africa, the deepest lake, the largest game reserve, the tropical island of Zanzibar, Pemba & Mafia, Game parks to beat any in the world with the Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and much much more.
Tanzania is the only African nation whose tribes represent all four of other continent’s major ethno linguistic groups –Bantu, Cushitic, Nilotic and Khoisan. Tanzania has more than 120 tribes all with their own traditions and customs. Tanzania is also about the people, who they are, what they do and where they live. Tanzanians are genuinely warm and welcoming –you frequently hear “Karibu” Swahili for welcome. It’s agriculture and industry at all levels is absorbing diverse and its history is phenomenal, from ancient Arabic ruins to the exploits of one of Germany’s most enigmatic WW 1 Generals.
ARUSHA
Arusha region holds a great diversity of people’s, Is the home of Maasai as well as Meru, Arusha, Iraq, Datoga, Sandawe & Hadza. Arusha is the busy modern town, nestling in the shadow of Mt Meru. The town could be referred to as the heart of the country’s Tourism industry, probably due to the proximity of Arusha to the northern safari circuit, which includes Tarangire national Park, Lake Manyara national Park and the Ngorongoro conservation area, all within the Arusha region as well as the Serengeti national park which is in Mara and Shinyanga regions.
Arusha is also a major coffee growing area whereby Arabica coffee is grown; there are several privately owned estate in and around Arusha including Seliani, Mringa & Monduli. Arabica coffee is also grown in small holdings owned by families of the Arusha and Meru people. Arusha is also famous for its precious game stone know as Tanzanite. Tanzanite is one of the rarest game stone on earth mined in Areas around the blue mountains in the south east of Arusha. Good quality stones can be purchased from the many gem stone shops in Arusha.
